Mr. T and my wife, and me
Recently, I was shocked by a telephone call from a bodyshop’s employee. It was about the owner of the bodyshop passed away. He had heart problem before and was hospitalized for a month. Let’s name him Mr. T. He was a good friend of mine in Japan. He was over 60, but we were good friends with open hearts. He did not hide anything from me and honestly shared his life, wishes, point of views, etc.
I knew him from my car accident back in 2000. It was when we just moved to Satsunai, Makubetsu town, Hokkaido. While my parents visited us from U.S., we went to a hot spring and had a wonderful time. On the way back home, when I turned right, a car behind me hit the back-right side of my car. I totaled my car with minor injuries to all of us. Since I wanted to share the Gospel to the local people from our town, I checked the bodyshop I can call. That was the beginning of contacting Mr. T.
He was very kind and detailed in his work. His work was very dependable and trustworthy. From him, I bought about 4 cars. He was always there to help any car problems. In those many occasions of meeting him, at one occasion, he asked me why Jesus had to die on the cross when he was not guilty? It blow my mind when I heard him ask the question at his office. I had to explain the whole plan of salvation to him. On that day, he received Jesus in his heart. After we prayed together, he wanted his wife to be saved also. He did not want to go to worship without his wife. However, he warned me that it would be almost impossible for his wife to change her heart.
