Since we moved to Urahoro town and dismiss our place in Makubetsu town, we needed to reclaim Makubetsu town for another ministry center. Therefore, we looked and found a place in Makubetsu town for our next ministry center. Finally we have found the place and plan to start a ministry center in Makubetsu town. This time, we focus on the old town rather than Satsunai area where the main population is. We used to live in Satsunai area in Makubetsu town, but that area seemed to be reached since they can go to Obihiro city easily and there are many churches in Obihiro city. Research Trip to Southern Hokkaido

We went to Southern Hokkaido from Aug. 6th to 11th to research about the history of Hokkaido. This trip focuses the war between Japanese and Ainu. Shakushain is a Ainu general who fought against Japanese. What was the cause and the end result was the main focus. This gives us what to pray for Ainu and what it needs to redeem the people in Hokkaido. The cause of the war was Japanese governor who was in financial crisis forced Ainu to trade in unfair exchange rate. We plan to have two major Research Trip in 2018

Two major Research Trips are planned this year. One for the Southern Hokkaido, and another for the Northern Hokkaido. Central Hokkaido and Eastern Hokkaido can be done through our daily routine. Research trip to Southern Hokkaido is scheduled from April 28 to May 9th. This will be the one of the major research for Hokkaido since Southern Hokkaido has rich history not only the Meiji era but also Heian era from 700s AD. The weather is warmer compared to Eastern or Northern Hokkaido, therefore, it was easier for 1st settlers to live. Report from our 3rd prayer journey from Aug. 5 – 9, 2017

Our journey was started on Aug. 5th, 2017. Our regular preparation was started including ready to use Vision Agent #1 (Camper). The Vision Agent is also used as a mobile classroom when I have a language class other than our regular classrooms in Gospel House or Vision House. It has provided us our shelter during our trip and it saves lots of stay fees. Aug. 5th covers Uryu town where we are staying at the Roadside Station where we get our free parking with 24 hour open access to the restrooms.  These days campers are very popular in Japan.
